The Winston-Salem java bar and creative-community hub, Krankies Coffee, has announced its plans to host monthly showcases for Carolina record labels. The first installment, scheduled for Oct. 13, will feature Raleigh’s DiggUp Tapes with performances by T0W3RS, Lonnie Walker, Lilac Shadows and The Lollipops. “I’m really excited about the potential for it,” says Phillip Pledger, the Estrangers frontman responsible for booking the gigs. The second showcase, he says, will focus on the Chapel Hill label Grip Tapes. Details have not yet been finalized, however.
