Hot on the heels of the release of umpteenth Mountain Goats album Transcendental Youth (their second for Merge Records, if you must keep count), John Darnielle and co. have released a video clip for the album standout “Cry For Judas.” Much praise has been heaped upon the album’s horn arrangements, the contribution of Virginia bandleader Matthew E. White; few tracks better showcase those bold blasts than this one. —Bryan C. Reed
